Since 2020 I have been getting my health in order and it has been a long road. One of the first habits I started with was baby carrots. Every meal started with raw baby carrots and I carried them with me everywhere for snacking. Why? When you choose a small habit to work on that is an easy win, you are more likely to keep it going. After enough tiny wins it is easier to try a not so tiny win.
Bonus side effects: When the same food is incorporated into your routine over and over you are less likely to get crazy hunger cravings. Subconsciously your mind knows the first thing you will eat is baby carrots and it is getting bored of it. Your body knows it isn't a calorie dump of sugar and doesn't push you to refuel. Second bonus is fiber. Need I say more?
When shopping for prom shoes with my daughter it was late afternoon and i I was getting hangry. I had a 4oz bag of carrots in my purse and was sneaking them in the shoe section of Dillard's. I didn't think twice about it and my kiddo thought I was nuts. On that day the idea of Purse Carrots was born, I successfully chose tiny wins no matter where I was.
